Most patients who call about a dental implant tell us the same thing: they've been quoted three different prices at three offices and left every consult feeling like they were being sold something. That's not how a good implant plan should feel. Here's what an implant consult actually looks like at Modern Smiles in North Hollywood — start to finish, no fluff.

1. The 15-minute conversation before we touch anything

Before any imaging, Dr. Kasra Tajik or Dr. Naji Hamoui sits down with you and asks four questions: What are you trying to fix? How long has the tooth been missing? Any grinding, gum issues, or medical conditions we should plan around? And — the one nobody else asks — what's your realistic budget?

That last question isn't a sales tactic. It shapes whether we plan a single implant with a same-day temporary, a staged implant with a bone graft, or a full-arch case financed through Cherry. If we don't know your budget, we can't design a plan that respects it.

2. The 3D scan (it takes 20 seconds)

We use CBCT imaging — a cone-beam scan that renders your jaw in 3D at a fraction of the radiation of a medical CT. In under a minute, we can see bone volume, nerve position, sinus floor, and the exact spot where an implant needs to go. Traditional 2D X-rays can't show any of that, which is why implants planned on 2D imaging alone are more likely to hit a complication mid-surgery.

You'll see the scan on the screen with us. If bone volume is low, we'll say so. If a graft is needed, we'll explain why and what it adds to the timeline.

3. The digital plan you can actually see

Using the CBCT plus an iTero scan of your bite, we build a virtual implant plan on-screen — the implant, the abutment, the final crown, and how it fits against the opposing tooth. You watch us place the implant virtually before we ever pick up an instrument.

This matters because implants that look great on X-ray but sit wrong in the bite fail early. Planning the crown first and working backward to the implant is how boutique offices avoid that.

4. The all-inclusive quote — itemized

You leave the consult with a written quote, itemized. A single implant at Modern Smiles starts at $2,050 per tooth, all-inclusive. That means the surgical placement, the abutment, the final porcelain crown, and follow-up visits are one price — no anesthesia surcharge, no imaging add-on, no lab fee tacked on later.

Full-arch cases are quoted the same way. If you want to see monthly payments, our financing calculator shows Cherry payments in real time, and 0% APR is available for qualifying patients.

5. Honest timelines

A straightforward single implant from placement to final crown runs about 3–4 months for most patients (the implant needs time to integrate with bone). Full-arch cases can be longer, but the healing phases are worth the durability. If somebody quotes you a full-mouth reconstruction in three weeks, ask hard questions.
